Peter Post is a singer/songwriter, born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick.  Starting out as the lead singer in the progressive rock band The Foundation (1987-1995), Peter served as the band’s lyricist and co-writer.  The Foundation played live extensively both on their own and sharing the stage with The Tea Party, Wild T & The Spirit, Honeymoon Suite, Haywire, Gowan and others.  The Foundation released a 6 song EP entitled “Hopscotch” in 1992 and recorded a full length CD that was completed in 1995.  The group disbanded before “Green Walky Man” was released but several of the songs garnered significant radio airplay.

In 1996 Peter formed a 4-piece rock band called Bishop (1996-1998).  During the band’s short life, they were awarded a coveted ECMA showcase, played with acts like Sass Jordan and Kim Mitchell, wrote and recorded a CD, and got national TV exposure.  Several tracks from the 1997 self-titled release (produced by Peter) got local airplay and were used in the nationally aired CBC dramatic series “Black Harbour”.

It was in 1998 that Peter decided to record some of his own songs and concentrate on his personal musical vision.  This began the slow process toward the 2004 CD “Change”.  Highlighting Peter’s stylistically diverse tastes, “Change” runs the gamut from rock to blues to pop to funk.  The joy of recording the album with an immensely talented group of artists is evident when listening to the disc.  Prominent local musicians like Allan Cooper, Chris Colepaugh, Robin Anne Ettles, Steven LeBlanc, Jac Gautreau and a host of others make “Change” a true collaboration.

The CD was released in November of 2003 at The Capitol’s Empress Theater.  The first track of the CD, “Don’t Let The Man Get You Down” received extensive airplay on C98 in Saint John after being chosen as the regional winner of Canadian Musician’s National Songwriting Competition in 2002.  “Guns”, a second single was played in regular rotation on Moncton’s K94.5.

Currently, Peter is the frontman for bigwhale with Neil Kennedy, Moe Fougere and Brent O'Hara.  bigwhale is primarily a live funk band with an eye on writing and recording.  Peter has also recently started a weekly podcast with Troy Tait from C103. RandomBull.ca can best be described as 'self-help from the helpless'.
